About Us

Way2Go is a Nelson Tasman Active Communities project aiming to increase the physical activity levels of the regions residents - with a focus on those who are aware they should be active but currently are not.

Way2Go is run by a steering group of representatives from Sport & Recreation New Zealand (SPARC), Tasman District Council (TDC), Nelson City Council (NCC), Tasman Regional Sports Trust (Sport Tasman), Nelson Bays Primary Health (PHO) and Nelson Marlborough District Health Board (DHB).

Way2Go Key Objectives

  • Ensure the community is well informed of physical activity options and benefits
  • Introduce multiple strategies via regional community Hubs
  • Remove barriers to participation.

Twelve Way2Go Hubs operate in our region to meet local community physical activity needs. Each Hub reflects a 'think regionally - act locally' philosophy to help people to make the active choice the easy choice.
