Introducing Mary-Ann McNatty, Richmond Hub Coordinator

Mary-Ann McNattyI started out at  Richmond Recreation Centre (Richmond Town Hall) doing general duties and cleaning.

The more time I spent at the Hub the more I learned about the day-to-day running of the facility and the importance of keeping active.

When the job of Facility Manager became vacant - I jumped at it.

My role is full of variety and the programme coordinators and I get great satisfaction in seeing people joining in at the Hub.

We try to make it easy for people to get involved with low fees for classes, a casual atmosphere and a great group of people getting more active, more often!

Check out the Richmond Way2Go Hi 5 stories...

Hi 5 to...David
Pain from arthritis and a hearing loss were making it increasingly difficult for David to keep active and retain his mobility. david_ingram.jpg

He wasn't aware of the exercise options open to him in his area and was reluctant to get involved in the community.

With support, David and his wife Ann joined the Richmond Way2Go Hub for the Shape Up exercise circuit, they attended Sit & Be Fit classes and also went to the pool each week.

"The people taking the sessions are great," David says. "They're helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - they made us feel welcome and are always very encouraging."

Now David says he is feeling great, he's more confident, his mobility has improved and he is no longer relying on pain killers.

I'm so much more involved in life now - I am moving freely with less arthritis pain, we are both very happy with our success and will keep going as long as we can.
